Another Whaleback

Lisa G commented on my previous post, noting that the Christopher Columbus looked top-heavy, and I could not agree more. Since streamlining was a defining characteristic of the whaleback ship, the Columbus was not at all a representative example of the breed.

Here is a more typical example of the whaleback design, showing how low the cylindrical hull rode in the water:
