The gasoline boat Red Wing, of Duluth, was brought into the local harbor Tuesday in tow of the boat Herring King of this city. The Red Wing was in a disabled condition, owing to a breakdown of the engine and the crew had a narrow escape. The boat left Duluth Sunday well laden with supplies which were to be conveyed to the north shore. After being out a short time the engine became disabled and the boat was tossed about in a Northwest gale until picked up Tuesday by the Herring King. Repairs were made in this city and the Red Wing proceeded to its destination.
Awfully late in the season to be out there- must have been fun tossing around from Sunday through Tuesday.
PS- We’ll hear more about the Herring King soon.
