Raspberry Island Light Station, May 19, 1928
Transferred raft with horse from Frog Bay to sand point, about 5 miles.
This would be the horse’s second summer on Raspberry Island. A log entry the previous year explained, “Keepers will use horse to plow garden and later on to haul wood.” He or she would remain on the island until mid-November, then be rafted back to the mainland for the winter. Must have been fun to watch the process.
